The Murchison National park is suited in the northern part of Albertine Rift Valley. A place where the massive Bunyoro escarpment amalgamate into the enormous plains of Acholi land. It’s well known to be one of Uganda’s ancient conservation areas. In 1926, it was known as a game reserve set up to protect the savannah grassland that was talked about by Winston Church chill in 1907 as the great Kew Gardens along with the wildlife blended on an restricted land .
The park is acknowledged for receiving prominent international visitors. Winston Churchill is a great man who is accredited for having done activities such as boat cruise, hiking as well as cycling the Nile corridor of the falls. Later on, he was followed by his predecessor who is believed for have spent a lot of money US$1.8m on his hunting safari in Uganda.
Day 01: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
You will leave Kampala City early in the morning (6:30am) for Murchison Falls National Park in the Northern part of Uganda.. This journey offers you an opportunity to pass through the famous Luwero triangle, Budongo forest on the western arm of the Great Rift Valley with great sceneries that are picturesque before reaching the park. Visit Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, project for the introduction of Rhinos back in Uganda, Lunch either in Chobe , Masindi town or at Ziwa ranch ( Extra fee of $100pp optional ) You will then drive to the Park arriving in time for the evening top of Murchison falls where the park derives its name. Retire later at either Chobe/ Para lodge or Fort Murchison on FB Basis.
Day 02: Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, you will go for an interesting early morning game drive to the rolling plains of Murchison Falls National Park with opportunities of viewing Hartebeest, Lions, Buffalo, primates, Birds, Giraffe and Elephants and many others. Return to the lodge for lunch at the lodge. After lunch you will go for a launch cruise to the bottom of the falls where the Nile empties into Lake Albert in search for Nile Crocodiles, birds, big Pods of Hippos and other wildlife species. On your way back, visit the top of the falls where the Nile perfects its beauty. Here you will see the calm Nile forcing its self through a narrow gorge to fall a distance of about 150 ft down producing a thunderous roar of white water- incredible scenery! Dinner and overnight at Chobe/ Para lodge or Fort Murchison on FB Basis.
Day 03: Murchison Falls National Park to Kampala
After Breakfast, you will then drive back to Kampala with a chance of tracking the chimpanzees in Budongo forest at an extra fee of $60 and optional. Lunch will be served en-route with a lot of sightseeing arriving later in the afternoon and end of trip.
